A · Where it all began
I grew up in a remote community where educational opportunities were limited. With my parents away for work, I entered school later than most of my peers. Starting Year One as the new child, I was often bullied and left feeling that I did not belong.
Everything began to change because of one teacher. She saw beyond the child others overlooked, recognised my strengths and gave me the confidence to believe in myself. Looking back, she did not just change my experience at school—she helped shape the person I am today.
B · Passing the light on
The kindness I once received became the reason I chose to teach.
I hope to be the educator who helps children discover their strengths, believe in themselves and know that they are valued.
C · Today
I am completing my Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) in Australia. I have discovered how much I enjoy building genuine relationships with children, learning alongside them and designing meaningful learning experiences.
Learning from mentor teachers who listen to children, value their voices and support individual journeys has strengthened the kind of teacher I aspire to become.
D · Looking forward
I cannot decide how a child will grow, nor should I. My role is to nurture the conditions in which every child can flourish in their own unique way.
